What do fellow POW's have to say:
This is a bit over 7 minutes long, but well worth the time!
(tip o' the hat to Crooks and Liars!)
I have little to say here other than to offer my condolences to family and friends. I rarely watch the Sunday morning shows since I'm afraid all of the hot air will cause my tele to float away, but this does serve to remind us of the fragility of life.
Just a couple of weeks ago someone I knew only in passing at work collapsed outside one of the buildings and passed away at age 53 on the way to the hospital. A week ago we had one of our annual picnics at work and another friend with whom I often closely work started feeling bad and went to the medical center. Turns out that his blood pressure was extremely high and he was transported to the hospital where the ultimate diagnose was that he had suffered a mini stroke. On top of that the doctors had a very difficult time regulating his blood pressure and he ended up staying about 5 days in the hospital. This is a man in his early to mid forties and in good physical condition.
I'm hoping against hope that Wes Clark will be at the forefront of the mix. I was mightily disappointed that he did not bring his presence to the campaign!
And this is absolutely the correct way to approach this campaign! I would love to see an Obama campaign office in at least each county in Alabama. For this approach we can thank Howard Dean who has proven that challenges to the republicans in every state spreads out their support and causes them immense pain. I hope that Obama has sticky coattails 'cause Vivian Figures will need all of the help she can get in her senatorial campaign against the odious J. Beauregard Sessions!
I have an e-mail account which I almost never use anymore, but it forwards to my gmail account. I just turned off the forwarding since I have gotten probably 30,000 spam e-mails forwarded today. I don't know what set this off, but there must be a special place in hell for spammers and those who spoof e-mail addresses to forward spam!
Go read the links from this NY Times piece. The quote above is from Mark Penn's bit, but all are well worth the read.
"What went wrong", indeed!
