The Health Summit ::

This CNN poll mirrors my thoughts exactly:

I had the summit on the tv in the main room next to where I work and I had the C-Span stream running on my computer all day and it was extremely obvious from the beginning that the republicans were going to do nothing but continue their obstructionism. The time is long past for the Democrats to decide on what they want in a health care overhaul bill and pass it by any means possible, including budget reconciliation!

Should We Scrap The Filibuster? ::

The results, so far, of this CNN poll surprise me:

I'm not sure that I agree with completely scrapping the filibuster, but the rules certainly need to be changed. A filibuster should require that those opposing the legislation actually offer supporting evidence of why the are in opposition. Of course that might subject C-Span viewers to hours of Mitch McConnell or Jeff (Beau) Sessions which would be cruel and unusual punishment, but the time is past for changing the way the filibuster is used.

The Toyota Safety Hearings ::

I was only able to hear bits and pieces of this this afternoon, but I have to say that this seems more like a witch hunt than a true concern about safety. The Toyota execs took some pretty good shots, but this entire thing seems to me to be more about protecting the American auto industry than it does about protecting the Toyota drivers, of which I am one and I would not hesitate to buy another Toyota!

Sunday Catblogging ::

I haven't had much to say lately-I think a lot of people are getting a bit burned out and are having trouble expressing their outrage at our current political experience. I thought I would throw up a photograph of my 9 week old kittens along with their mother although you can only really see 1 kitten here.

I'm hoping my writer's block will clear up soon!
